32nd Annual Gold Company Invitational Vocal Jazz Festival

Festival Information

  1. The Festival is non-competitive and educational in nature.  Each group will receive taped and written comments, plus a clinic immediately following its performance.
  2. Each choir has 10 minutes to perform.  This doesn’t include set-up.
  3. A piano, bass amp, guitar amp, drum set and PA system with 20 microphones and monitors will be provided.
  4. Each group is encouraged to perform three contrasting tunes that can include a swing tune, a ballad and something a cappella.
  5. Groups will be evaluated primarily on the quality of the vocal performance.  Staging and choreography will receive secondary emphasis.
  6. Groups, soloists and rhythm sections will be recognized for outstanding performances.
  7. Only primary groups can be guaranteed a performance spot at this time.  Additional groups will be scheduled on a first come first served basis depending on space available.
  8. Forms must be received no later than January 27, 2012.  To guarantee a place, we suggest getting your reservation in as soon as possible, as space is limited.
  9. Final details and schedule will be mailed by February 27, 2012.

 

Cost

A fee of $15 per participant in the festival is set in order to cover the Saturday Festival costs.  In addition to the Festival activities this fee will include a ticket to the Saturday evening concert with Gold Company.

A fee of $20 per participant will include the cost of the Guest Artist concert on Friday evening plus all Saturday activities.
